David "Scott" Carlin

Family and friends of David "Scott" Carlin, 68, will gather for Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 8 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Michaels Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg.
Born October 15, 1956 in Chicago to David and Evelyn (nee Green), he passed away suddenly January 30, 2025 at his home in Schaumburg. Scott was a devoted father and grandfather, former spouse of Cathy Swanson, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
As an accomplished musician, he most enjoyed playing the organ for Sunday masses at St. Matthew Church in Schaumburg. Scott worked at Pickle Piano in Roselle since its inception in 1988 and also at Roselle Music in Roselle. He authored the regularly appearing "Keyed Up" article in many periodicals discussing musical theory and interviewing many famous musicians.
